Davy Knowles, is a great young guitarist
from the Isle of Man. I finally got the
pleasure of seeing him at one of my
favorite venues, the Southgate House in
Newport,KY. It was a smokin' show! He
is was of the most accommodating to
his fans I have ever met. I think we will
see much of him in the years to come.

If you haven't heard of the Kris Lager Band, it won't be
long before you will. Kris is one of the most innovative
and talented guitarist/singer/songwriters I have heard
for some time. His influences are broad and it shows in
his music. He soaks them all in and unleashes an
outpouring of raw, blues infected music he can proudly
call his own. Through the changes in his band's lineup
and the end of his backing relationship with Mato
Nanji, he and the multi talented Jeremiah Weir carry
on, bringing us more and more rockin' music. Check
out their albums, and if you can, one of his raucous live
shows. You won't be disappointed. Incidentally, Kris is
shown playing a Vibetone guitar that was gifted to him.

Guy King is considered to be one of the new
generation of torch bearers for the Chicago
Blues. A finer choice couldn't be made. He puts
his own and unmistakable twist on the Chicago
sound through his jazz influences and I believe
the influences of two fine gentlemen by the
names of Ray Charles and Willie Kent. The
latter I gather was quite a mentor to Guy
during his time as Mr. Kent's band leader.
However he mixes up these influences and
throws in a big helping of himself, it flat out
works. Check out his album "Livin' It" and see
him live with his top notch band. He puts on a
smokin' show that in some ways feels like a trip
back in time. The King name continues to be
synonymous with the Blues.
